Urban Imports will not be held responsible for any delays in the shipment of your vehicle that are outside of our control. This includes delays caused by our contractors or workshop facilities. We hold no obligation for any delayed time. Urban Imports will not be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the information disclosed by Japanese auction houses. For example, if the auction sheet states that a vehicle has no tints, but upon arrival tints have been installed. We are not liable for any damages caused by shipping companies or other external contractors. All vehicles being shipped are insured by our shipping company, and if damages do occur, we will provide you with photos and work towards finding the best solution. Full payment must be made before the release of the vehicle to you. No warranty is expressed or implied, including under the Consumers Guarantees Act 1993. Urban Imports acts as an importation assistance agent and not as a vehicle retailer, merely guiding our clients through the importation process. Missing or stolen parts under $500 are not covered by insurance. Please note that there is no warranty expressed or implied for the vehicles advertised on behalf of Urban Imports. These vehicles are sold on an "as is, where is" basis, and it is the buyer's responsibility to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. Urban Imports acts as a free advertising agent and will not be held responsible for any misleading or inaccurate information disclosed by the advertiser.

Auction Access :

Deposits are refundable, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Deposit section. Upon making a bid and deposit, Urban Imports will then handle the auction logistics. If you do not participate in the bidding process, we reserve the right to revoke your bids and refund your deposit. However, there may be a possibility to retain a 10% fee for services rendered, which we can discuss further. Once a car has been won on your behalf through the auction, cancellations are not allowed. To account for the potential cost of cancellations, we may opt to impose a cancellation fee or increase the deposit amount.

Bidding :

All bids need to be verified at least two hours before the commencement of the auction, at which point bidding will be concluded. If you choose to retract your bid, it must be done prior to auction commencement. Only bids with deposits will be considered live and activated. Failure to make a deposit will result in your bid remaining inactive. After successfully bidding and winning a vehicle, each account is limited to one winning vehicle. Once a vehicle has been acquired, any additional bids will be nullified. If you require to import multiple vehicles simultaneously, a pre-consultation and an additional deposit will be necessary.
Urban imports bear no liability for any discrepancies or authenticity in the information provided by Japanese auction houses or third-party condition sheets. For instance, in cases where the auction sheet indicates the absence of window tints, yet tints are found to be installed upon delivery.

Deposit :

Your deposit remains fully refundable until you have successfully won a vehicle. Please ensure that the bank account digits for the refund are accurate. Urban Imports cannot be held accountable in the event of incorrect bank details being provided. Documentation and screenshot evidence will be provided. When you place a deposit for a vehicle search and successfully win at auction, please be aware that should you choose to withdraw from the purchase, your deposit is non-refundable. This condition is in place to cover expenses such as auction relisting fees and logistical arrangements. We may also deactivate your account. When you place a deposit for a fixed priced vehicle, and our Japanese agents have already purchased it on your behalf. Should you choose to withdraw from the purchase, your deposit will be non-refundable. We may also deactivate your account. Deposit refunds for New Zealand bank accounts typically take approximately 1-3 days to process. Deposit refunds for international bank accounts typically take approximately 3-7 days to process. Upon successfully acquiring your vehicle, the deposit can be deducted from the total vehicle cost. An additional deposit of total ($2000) may be required for vehicles with a bid price of over $40,000 NZD or 350,0000 Yen. Additional deposit amounts may be necessary for even higher-priced vehicles, and we will promptly inform you of any such requirement.

Payment :

After the initial invoice is received, a payment window of 5 days is provided. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the vehicle being re-listed for auction or by the 3 rd party supplier and your deposit will not be refundable. This condition only applies to the initial invoice, as it aligns with the strict deadlines set by our Japanese agents and auction guidelines. Other invoices presented to you throughout the importation process will have more lenient time frames. The faster you make payment, the sooner we will dispatch your vehicle to the shipping company. You are obligated to fulfill payment obligations to all external contractors or shipping providers, with invoices presented to you at various stages of the importation process. Complete payment is required prior to the release of the vehicle to the purchaser; otherwise, the vehicle may be retained until full payment has been received. The currency price conversion on our webpage may not reflect real-time accuracy due to currency fluctuations, as our database updates every fortnight. The most precise and up-to date price quotation will be provided to the customer on the day of inquiry. Customers are obligated to make payments based on the most accurate exchange rate on the day of quotation. The customer is responsible for covering all expenses related to international telegraphic transfers. We kindly request the remittance of the entire amount specified on the invoice.
